HOME WINE COOLER

If you are a wine lover and you are not satisfied with just having a few bottles stored at home but you want to have your own home wine cellartoday we are going to talk about them. As professionals in decoration and interior design for over 70 years, we have seen how the wine industry has been growing and even more in our country, representing a symbol of tradition and world reference.

And who doesn't like wine? We like its history, its elaboration process and its taste. So much so that routes are made to generate memorable experiences for many travelers based on this culture. Hence, more and more, we want to have our own personal wine library at home to taste the different varieties and to invite our friends and not have to hire any tasting. It sounds great to have our own tasting at home!If this has made you even more eager to have a space reserved for your wines, do not miss everything we have to tell you about home wine cabinets because we are sure that when you finish, you will want one.

WHY HAVE A WINE CELLAR AT HOME

More and more people are in favor of drinking a good red, white, sparkling or rosé wine in the best conditions of temperature and humidity. Small wine cabinets for home use have increased their sales, and also the purchase of wine online, even more so during the pandemic, when we could hardly leave our homes. As a result, wine consumption grew by more than 25%.

It may have happened to you that when it comes to keep the wine, you do not know where to put it, it was not at the right temperature or even a bottle was broken, not having a place for it. For this and if you are a wine fan, the best solution is to get a wine cooler for white and red wine to keep it properly. We say this because depending on the wine, the aging and its vintage must have a specific temperature and this cannot be achieved in a refrigerator.

WHERE TO PLACE A WINE COOLER?

When thinking about the location of our home wine cellar, the first option that comes to mind may be the kitchen. It is a good option and it is the most common but not the only one because depending on the space you have, you can take advantage and place your home wine cellar in more spacious rooms. We would all like to have a home wine cellar, right?

The wine cellar should be in the shade

Although a wine cooler has its own technology to preserve the wine, the temperature of the place should not exceed 30ºC, nor should it be exposed to direct sunlight. This could damage our wine and the wine cooler.

Do not place your home wine cooler next to other appliances.

Home wine coolers or wine cellars usually need to have a space of 3 cm on each side, in addition to not having any refrigerator or appliance that releases heat nearby because it could directly affect the temperature and thermostat of our home wine cooler. On the other hand, it is not recommended to place a wine cooler next to other vibrating appliances because the wine could suffer.

Of course where to place a wine cooler whatever the room, let's know the best temperature.

WINE COOLER TEMPERATURE

How to choose the ideal wine cooler temperature? We imagine that you already know that quality wine is not a drink that can be drunk as cold as possible, but neither is the taste perceived well if it is too hot. To do it well, wine must be kept at a very specific temperature depending on the type of wine.

First, if your idea is to have wines of a single type such as red, white or rosé, you can buy a wine cooler for home with a single section and temperature range. It will not be the same if your idea is to have many kinds of wine, it is better to think of a wine cooler with independent temperature controls.

Temperature wine cooler red wine

For red wines, so that they do not lose the nuances of their flavor, it is recommended that your home wine cellar should be at a higher storage temperature of between 13ºC and 18ºC.

Temperature of white wine in wine cooler

For white wines, the wine cooler temperature can be lower. For sparkling wines, the ideal temperature is 7ºC, and for white wines, between 10ºC for the youngest ones, and 12ºC. Finally, for rosé wines you can use this same range, which would be around 10ºC.
